Update (March 2017): Phoenix has been adopted by a wonderful family and is no longer available.
Phoenix is a 4-year-old Boerboel available for adoption through ABARS (American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service).
Here is a brief story and bio about Phoenix’ from his rescuers at ABARS:
“Earlier this year, ABARS (American Bullmastiff Association Rescue Service) was contacted about a Bullmastiff who was in a bad situation. Wjen the volunteer arrived, she learned that he was a Boerboel, but the situation was dire and she couldn’t leave him. Since there was no Boerboel Rescue available, ABARS stepped up to help.
Sweet Phoenix is four years old. He is very good with other dogs, and loves people. Phoenix is extremely affectionate and eager to please! He is currently in training: learning sit, stay, and down and doing very well. Phoenix is fully vetted, crate trained and house trained. Because of his size and playfulness, we prefer to place him with older children, over 10.
Phoenix’ life prior to rescue was not easy. He is blind in his left eye and deaf in his left ear from being attacked as a puppy. He is heart worm positive and is doing very well with treatment.
Phoenix is a wonderful dog who deserves a wonderful home. If you think you might be right, please take a few minutes to complete the online adoption application at www.bullmastiff.us/rescue and contact Jacqueline at email@example.com.”
